Incredible. Ridiculous. Scandalous. Pick any adjective you like to describe the empty property reported to us this week, they all amount to the same.

This lovely semi-detached house in the London borough of Southwark is estimated at a value of one million pounds when fully renovated but it is rotting away, with nothing being done.

The owner lives in the same street but has no intention of doing anything to the house. The downstairs windows have long gone and the front bay is now propped up by a makeshift wooden scaffold to keep it falling outwards.

There must be something the local authority can do about this waste of resources? Over to you, Southwark Council….
