With the housing situation in the UK as bad as it is you’d think a property empty over a decade and literally falling to pieces would be a priority but sadly that’s not the case in Leicester. 

People living in Sylvan Street say they have been demanding action from the local authority for years but nothing has been done. Calls for enforcement have now reached the city’s, MP Liz Kendall.

One frustrated neighbour said: “It’s in a dreadful state, the roof is collapsing in on itself, the windows are falling out and I think that, with the amount of water infiltrating the building, the floorboards will be close to collapsing.”
